Young Women Leaders Panel on “The Impact of AI on Everyday Life”, as part of the Eisenhower Fellowships Ireland Conference 8th November 2025. Moderated by Dr Amelia Kelly and featuring Freya McNeill, Claudine Mulihano, Sinéad Ahern and Ava McGurk moderated by Dr Amelia Kelly.
Dr Amelia Kelly: Dr Amelia Kelly is an artificial intelligence engineer and scientist specialising in automatic speech recognition of children’s voices. She holds a B.Sc. in Physics and Astronomy from NUI Galway, and M. Phil and PhD in Linguistics from Trinity College Dublin. She is currently Chief Technology Officer at SoapBox Labs.
Freya McNeill : Freya is a first-year student at Trinity College Dublin studying economics and history. She is very interested in classical studies, philosophy, geology reading and writing. She has a Substack account where she writes about miscellaneous topics. Freya has worked on a model that forecasts Ireland’s electricity demand and the proportion of wind-generated power by integrating historical EirGrid data with real-time weather inputs. The idea of this project was to enable smarter energy usage, from grid optimization to helping users schedule electricity-intensive activities.
In the summer of 2025 she took part in the patch summer program where she worked alongside 2 others to build an AI personal trainer.
Claudine Mulihano: Claudine is a student of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Galway, passionate about medtech, business, and personal development. She is the co-founder of Solemate, a smart insole designed to help post-stroke survivors improve their gait and mobility.
Sinéad Ahern: Sinéad is a first year Cybersecurity student at MTU in Cork. In parallel with studying she’s also currently working on her tech start-up, Lynra, as well as a whole host of smaller projects on the side. She’s passionate about all things tech, having competed and won in Scifest and Scifest college, as well as multiple Maths and Programming Olympiads, and even gone to NASA. Sinéad has a keen interest in AI and its potentials, having trained her own models and used it to help her with her work.
Ava McGurk : Ava McGurk is a 17-year-old psychology researcher and entrepreneur from Belfast, passionate about using technology to transform care. A 4x Northern Ireland Young Scientist of the Year and 3x published researcher, she has collaborated with the Health Trust to create CAMHS resources and is now co-founder of ReCreo, a platform that helps care providers instantly generate personalised therapy plans. After completing the Patch accelerator in Dublin, Ava is focused on bridging psychology and technology to empower professionals, maximise resources, and deliver meaningful outcomes.
